One person was killed and two others were injured in a three-car crash on Tuesday evening in Connecticut, police said.
Daniel Ronan, a 51-year-old West Haven man, was identified as the deceased victim following the accident in Orange, another western New Haven suburb, authorities said Wednesday.
Ronan was driving a 2008 Nissan Sentra southbound on Grassy Hill Road, a residential street, when he veered into the northbound lanes for unknown reasons, cops said.
Ronan sideswiped one vehicle before colliding head-on with another and coming to a jarring stop. The other two drivers, who have not been identified, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
A photo from the crash showed the entire front-end of one vehicle had been smashed in, while another suffered serious damage to its left front-end.
The deadly wreck came five days after another fatal car crash in Connecticut, in which a 14-year-old boy was killed in a hit-and-run in Hartford on Christmas night.
Malachi James, who was a passenger in a car when it was struck by a Tesla Cybertruck, was honored at a vigil Tuesday afternoon by his family, friends and others from Middletown High School.
