Multiple firearms were recovered from the scene, cops said.
Just a couple of hours before the mass shooting near Haffen Park, about 2 miles away, a 24-year-old man was blasted multiple times in the chest across the street from the Gun Hill Rd. subway station in Gun Hill around 5:27 p.m.
EMS transported the victim to Jacobi Medical Center where he was in critical condition.
No arrests have been made in the shooting.
The gun violence comes just a day after four teenagers between the ages of 13 and 15 were wounded in a shooting in the Bronx on Tratman Ave. between St. Peters Ave. and Overing St., down the block from The Pearly Gates playground in Westchester Square around 4 p.m. on Friday.
A 13-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl were each struck in the left leg, a 14-year-old boy was grazed in the foot by a bullet and a 15-year-old boy was grazed in both legs, according to police.
EMS transported all four victims to Jacobi Medical Center in stable condition.
“There were are at least five shots,” said Victor Carrion, 61, who witnessed the scene. “People were running away. I saw the girl on the floor. She was crying. She’d been shot in the left leg, and she was bleeding heavily. The other kids who were shot ran down the street.”
There have been no arrests, cops said. Police are looking for two shooters, who, like the victims, are also teenagers, according to a police source.
