1 person killed, 5 wounded in mass shooting in Baltimore

One person was killed and five others wounded — including a 5-year-old girl — in a shooting at a Baltimore intersection Saturday night, authorities said.

The deceased victim was identified only as a 38-year-old man, the Baltimore Sun reported. The wounded victims were four men, ages 32, 33 and 52, a 23-year-old woman and the 5-year-old girl, police said.

No suspects had been publicly identified or arrested by Sunday evening. All five wounded victims, including the girl, suffered non-life-threatening injuries, local news station WTOP reported.

“Thankfully, it doesn’t appear that her injury is very serious,” Baltimore Police Commissioner Richard Worley said of the 5-year-old.

Cops responded to reports of a shooting in the city’s Central Park Heights neighborhood around 8:45 p.m. Saturday, according to local Fox affiliate WBFF. The 38-year-old man was rushed to a hospital with serious injuries, but he died at the facility Sunday morning.

Several cars damaged by gunfire remained on the street into Sunday, and cops were analyzing bloodstains on the sidewalk, the Sun reported.

The mass shooting was one of multiple shootings across Baltimore over the weekend — including one Sunday morning, when a 21-year-old man was shot and wounded on the city’s southeast side, and on early Saturday, when a different 38-year-old man was fatally shot on the city’s southwest side.
