News 12 reported that people on the scene saw police officers helping children exit the bus. While some passengers were said to have been frightened and crying, witnesses to the crash didn’t immediately believe there were any serious injuries. That claim hasn’t been confirmed by officials.
Ambulances and firetrucks reportedly arrived quickly.
City officials said eight children on the bus and two children in the car it hit required medical attention. Two adults on the bus and one adult in the car were also reportedly hospitalized.
Bridgeport officials couldn’t immediately be reached for a request for comment.
This is a developing story.
