2 killed, 2 wounded in Thanksgiving shooting in San Antonio

Two people were killed and two more wounded in a shooting at a San Antonio home on Thanksgiving morning.

The deceased victims were identified only as two men in their 20s, the San Antonio Express-News reported. The wounded victims were both men, but their ages were not released by police.

A suspect, also identified as a man in his 20s, was arrested Thursday morning, according to local CBS affiliate KENS.

Cops said all five people were acquainted and spent Wednesday night together at the home ahead of the holiday. The suspected shooter decided to leave Thursday morning, then quickly returned with a handgun, investigators said.

Any potential motive for the shooting remains unclear, according to police.

“This is a tragic incident, and we are working to piece together what led to this senseless act of violence,” San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said at a press conference.

The shooting on San Antonio’s east side was not the only instance of gun violence in the south Texas city over the holiday. On Wednesday evening, a man fatally shot a woman then turned the gun on himself in an attempted murder-suicide on the north side, police said.

The victim, identified only as a 47-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Express-News. The attacker, identified as a 53-year-old man, was transported to a local hospital with a gunshot wound. He was in critical condition when he arrived.
