Two men have been arrested for aiding a Tennessee man wanted in the quadruple murder of four family members and kidnapping of an infant, authorities said Saturday.
Austin Drummond, 28, remained at large on Sunday, officials said. He is wanted for the killings of Matthew Wilson, Adrianna Williams, Cortney Rose and Braydon Williams in Tiptonville on July 29.
Tanaka Brown and Giovante Thomas, both 29, have been arrested and charged with accessory after the fact to first-degree murder, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said in press releases. Brown was also charged with evidence tampering.
Authorities did not say exactly how the two men aided Drummond. By the time the TBI announced Thomas’ arrest, he was behind bars in Madison County in an unrelated case. Cops said he’d be transferred to Lake County, where the bodies of Wilson, Rose and the Williamses were found.
The victims were found dead in Tiptonville, near the northwest corner of the state. They were all related to the infant, who was found alive about 40 miles south, police said. Wilson, 21, and Adrianna Williams, 20, were the baby’s parents, Rose, 38, was the grandmother and Braydon Williams, 15, was an uncle.
Drummond had a previous relationship with the family and reportedly used to date Rose’s sister. Investigators believe he is hiding somewhere in Jackson, about 65 miles southeast of Tiptonville and 75 miles northeast of Memphis.
