A Long Island gang tied to the nationwide Bloods set was behind at least two murders, eight more shootings and a sex trafficking operation, leading to nine arrests, authorities said Thursday.
Nine members of the Lowndes Block Gang were arraigned in the past three days, including three accused of murder, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office said in a press release.
The gang operated around Lowndes Ave. in Huntington Station and was directed by Marques Scott, a 31-year-old Huntington resident, prosecutors said. Scott also allegedly ran a sex trafficking ring, using the proceeds to fund the gang’s activities.
The group was tied to the 2021 murder of Luis Cameron Rimmer-Hernandez, 21, on Lowndes Ave. and the 2016 killing of Antoine Butts-Miller, 18, also in Huntington Station, authorities said.
Scott and fellow gang member Shakur May, 22, planned the killing of Rimmer-Hernandez and had a 14-year-old boy, Ramon Lyons, carry out the murder, according to investigators. Lyons was convicted and sentenced to 12 years to life for the murder, but the killing wasn’t formally tied to any gang until Thursday.
Kevin Donaghy, a 33-year-old Huntington Station man, was charged with the murder of Butts-Miller in Thursday’s indictment. That case, which occurred outside a house party, had previously been unsolved. Cops believed Butts-Miller was a bystander and not related to any gang.
Scott ordered several other shootings across Long Island between 2020 and 2025, prosecutors said. Another suspect, Tyshawn Lopez, shot a man in the head on Scott’s order in December 2020, and Scott shot his own ex-girlfriend in the head in June 2021, according to investigators.
In addition to Scott, Donaghy, May and Lopez, the indictment charges Kamoree Richardson, 25; Joshua Brown, 25; Justice King, 21; Rashad Casey, 25, and Brianna Kuchar, 31, with a variety of gang-related offenses. All nine suspects were arraigned on Tuesday and Wednesday.
