Two North Jersey men were arrested Tuesday for a $1.7 million smash-and-grab jewelry robbery in Westchester County.
Kevin Williams, 26, and Byron Wilson, 24, were part of a four-man break-in crew that snatched the jewelry from a store in Hartsdale, N.Y., federal investigators said Tuesday in a press release. Both men were arrested Tuesday morning.
“Armed with sledgehammers, the defendants smashed their way in and then plundered the store of about $1.7 million in jewelry, diamonds and luxury watches, all while innocent customers and employees hid for their safety,” Acting Manhattan U.S. Attorney Matthew Podolsky said.
Williams, Wilson and their two partners broke into Tarrytown Jewelers around 11 a.m. on Dec. 16, 2024, according to the feds. The robbers were seen on surveillance video using sledgehammers to smash open display cases, then shoving the stolen valuables into bags.
The robbers got away with about 70 Rolex watches worth $1 million and additional diamond rings, necklaces and earrings worth $700,000, according to authorities.

Later that day, Williams visited Manhattan’s Diamond District, the feds said. After that trip, Williams, Wilson and the other robbers posed for photos with huge stacks of cash, according to the feds. The photos were included in charging documents.
Investigators tied Williams and Wilson to the robbery through cellphone location data and a stolen Jeep the robbers drove to and from Terrytown Jewelers.
