A 21-year-old man was blasted in the head and killed in a broad-daylight Brooklyn shooting Tuesday, police said.
Cops responding to a 911 call on Meserole St. near Union Ave. in Williamsburg discovered the unconscious man just before 2:20 p.m., cops said.
Medics rushed him to Elmhurst Hospital Center, but he could not be saved.
It was not immediately clear what led up to the gunfire. The victim’s name was not released as police first worked to notify his family of his death.
There were no immediate arrests in the shooting, which rang out steps from the NYPD’s 90th Precinct stationhouse.
The killing marked the first homicide of the year in the precinct, which covers Williamsburg. By this time last year, there had already been two murder victims in the 90th, according to the latest NYPD statistics released March 2.
