3 NJ teens charged after party ends in stampede, shooting

Three New Jersey teens have been charged months after an early-summer pop-up party in Glassboro drew hundreds of people and ultimately ended with a chair-throwing brawl, a shooting and a stampede, officials said.

Two 18-year-olds — Serenity Hall of Camden, and Elijah Evans of Pine Hill — and a 17-year-old from Glassboro are accused of being responsible for “the chaos that ensued on Rowan Boulevard on June 29, 2025,” the Glassboro Police Department said on Friday.

The trio allegedly created a digital flyer to advertise the party on social media. It invited the community to the “pop-up party” at 10 p.m. on June 29 and urged those attending to bring speakers. “‘[Profanity] if the cops turn up!!’” it said.

Police estimated that more than 500 people gathered on Rowan Blvd. that night, “standing and dancing on cars, blocking the right of way to traffic and blasting loud music.”

When authorities arrived to clear the crowd, a chair-throwing fight broke out, sparking a large stampede that left a man with a head injury requiring medical attention.

Shortly after midnight, a 20-year-old man fired a gun during a verbal altercation, striking a male victim in the pelvis. The shooting triggered “immediate panic and fear,” cops said, causing the remainder of the crowd to run in numerous directions trying to find safety.

The shooter, later identified as Lavonta Moore, of Sicklerville, was charged with multiple offenses, including attempted murder. The victim was taken to Cooper Hospital for treatment, officials said.

On Friday, Glassboro police announced that Hall, Evans and the 17-year-old, identified only by the initials “S.T.,” had been charged with a fourth-degree count of inciting a public brawl, punishable by up to 18 months in prison, a $10,000 fine, or both.

“The charges filed serve as a cautionary example for those contemplating disruptive behavior,” police said. “Unauthorized events that attract attendees from in and out of the Borough, whose sole purpose is to create and take part in lawlessness, jeopardize the safety of our community and will never be tolerated.”
