4 dead, including baby boy, in Ohio murder-suicide

An Ohio man fatally shot three people, including a baby boy and his 7-year-old brother, before turning the firearm on himself, police said.

The deadly violence unfolded after Ryan Eagon ambushed his wife as she tried to move out of her home in Tiffin, located along the Sandusky River in Seneca County, local authorities said in a press release.

Police responded to the residence on the 100 block of Huss Street on Wednesday around 6:25 p.m. to investigate reports of gunfire and screaming coming from the property.

Upon arrival, officers located “an adult male and two male children suffering from apparent gunshot wounds,” the Tiffin Police Department said. They also encountered “an adult female, who was physically uninjured but clearly in state of shock, overwhelmed and visibly traumatized.”

During the subsequent investigation, authorities learned the gunfire erupted “during an effort by the mother of two children to remove belongings from the residence following ongoing domestic issues in the home,” police said.

Dustin Willey, the father of her 7-year-old son, was also there to help.

Willey and the infant were pronounced dead at the scene from multiple gunshot wound, according to the Seneca County Coroner’s Office. The 7-year-old was rushed to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later from a gunshot wound to the head.

Outside the residence, responding officers found another man dead from “what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound,” police said. “Based on the evidence collected thus far, the incident is being investigated by the Tiffin Police Department as a homicide/suicide.”

That man was later identified as Eagon, the woman’s husband and father of her 7-month-old child. He was “believed to be working out of town” when she made arrangements to move out of the home.
