60-year-old woman beaten in break-in at Beanie Babies founder’s California mansion



A violent maniac is behind bars after savagely beating a woman into a coma after breaking into the California mansion of Beanie Babies founder Ty Warner, state prosecutors announced.

Russell Maxwell Phay, 42, of Nevada, was arrested and hit with first-degree attempted murder and other related charges for invading the Ty Inc. billionaire’s Montecito home and “violently” beating a 60-year-old woman who was inside on May 21, according to the Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office, NBC News reported.

The alleged attacker barricaded himself inside a bathroom after the beating and eventually surrendered to police.

The victim, Linda Malek-Aslanian, was taken to a nearby hospital where she remains comatose due to a brain injury sustained in the heinous attack, court documents obtained by the outlet showed.

Warner was home at the time of the break in and assault but was not harmed, local station KSBW reported.
