Son of ‘Walking Dead’ star Norman Reedus charged in brutal attack of woman in Chelsea

Mingus Reedus — the 25-year-old son of “Walking Dead” star Norman Reedus — was released by a Manhattan judge after being charged for a brutal attack in which he allegedly punched and tried to choke a 33-year-old woman in Chelsea.

Reedus was hit with assault and criminal obstruction of breathing Saturday night after cops responded to a 911 call earlier that day at W. 16th St. and Eighth Ave. — finding a woman with minor injuries to her neck and legs. She was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.

At his arraignment in Manhattan Criminal Court, Reedus was released on his own recognizance, and a temporary order of protection was issued. His next court date was set for Tuesday.

In a complaint, Reedus was accused of “recklessly” injuring the woman, causing “physical injury… with intent to impede the normal breathing and circulation of the blood” by applying “pressure on the throat and neck” and had “struck, shoved, kicked and otherwise subjected another person to physical contact.. with intent to harass, annoy and alarm…”

The complaint determined another person “observed the defendant use both of his hands to apply pressure (to the victim’s) neck by forcefully squeezing it” and “observed the defendant strike her about her right leg with a closed fist and then use both hands to throw her on the ground, causing bruising, redness, and substantial pain to her right leg.”

The troubling incident wasn’t Reedus’ first run-in with law enforcement for lashing out at a woman. In September 2021, the then 21-year-old was charged with misdemeanor assault after allegedly slugging a 24-year-old woman during the Feast of San Gennaro in Little Italy at Mulberry and Grand Sts.

At that time, Reedus told the Daily News it was all a big misunderstanding, asserting the friends of the woman “swarmed” him after physically bumping into his group at the festival. He said he “threw his arm out” to protect himself and accidentally smacked the woman.
