NYPD investigating whether man in critical condition was pushed or fell to Manhattan subway tracks



A subway rider was heard screaming from the subway tracks moments before he was hit by a train Saturday afternoon in Manhattan.

Responding to a 911 call inside the Fulton Street. subway station in the financial district around 5 p.m. they found a man, who was struck by a downtown 4 train on the tracks with lower body injuries, cops said.

A witness told police that they heard screaming and saw the man on the tracks.

The unidentified man was taken by EMS to Bellevue Hospital where he was listed in critical condition.

It was unclear how the victim ended up on the tracks, either falling or being pushed. Police are checking for video surveillance of the incident.
