Viewers are giving an applause, applause, applause to Lady Gaga.
The singer, 39, has officially made her debut on Season 2 of “Wednesday” as the deceased Nevermore Academy professor, Rosaline Rotwood.
In May, it was announced that Gaga would join the Netflix horror series, but she wasn’t featured in part one of the season that dropped in August.
The actress made her debut in episode six after Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) is advised by her grandmother Hester (Joanna Lumley) to visit Rotwood’s grave in order to strengthen her psychic abilities.
The headstone then transports Wednesday into a chamber where Gaga’s character warns Wednesday not to break the “Raven’s Gaze.”
Enid (Emma Myers) interrupts Wednesday’s ritual, which results in a body swap between the two friends and roommates.
Gaga also recorded the song “The Dead Dance” for Season 2, with a music video directed by Tim Burton.
After the “Born This Way” artist’s cameo, fans took to X to share their excitement over the Grammy winner’s performance.
One fan wrote, “This looks like Gaga’s born to be in a Tim Burton universe,” while a second viewer simply added, “MOTHER.”
The show’s stars were also overjoyed to have Mother Monster in their graces.
“I think it was during filming season 2. I think one day, somebody mentioned it and I was like, ‘What?’ And they were like, ‘Oh, you didn’t know?’ I was like, ‘No, I didn’t know,’” Myers, 23, told People last month. “I thought somebody would’ve told me something that big. It was kind of out of nowhere.”
“The entire time I was like, ‘OK, 10 more days until she gets here.’”
Ortega, 22, also told the outlet that she “had no idea” that Gaga’s appearance was happening.
“I think I found out maybe the night before and we didn’t know, we didn’t have time to rehearse or understand anything,” she revealed. “It was just something that Gaga had reached out, and she just called me. So it was very exciting. [She’s] one of the greatest performers, dare I say of all time.”
“She’s such a legend and such a powerhouse. Just an incomparable force. So to be able to sit at a dinner table and do nothing and watch her up close — what a gift.”
Gaga described how her collaboration with the show’s creator, Burton, 67, came to be.
“I immediately had a song in mind called ‘The Dead Dance,’ and I had started working on it. But once I knew it was going to be for ‘Wednesday,’ I decided that I was going to work on it even more and I made it extra special for the show,” she told Tudum.com.
“To me, when you know that music and pop culture and Tim Burton all come together with this cast, that’s a very special recipe. So that’s why I’m here,” she continued. “After that happened, they asked me if I wanted to be on the show, and I said, ‘Absolutely.’”
