A 51-year-old man was arrested after whacking a woman in the head with a mini baseball bat after they got into an argument on a subway train in downtown Manhattan Friday afternoon, cops said.
Abdul Muhammad struck the 48-year-old victim in the forehead with a mini baseball bat after they got into a verbal dispute on a northbound No. 4 train near the Union Square – E. 14th St. subway station around 4:30 p.m., according to police.
Muhammad and the woman did not know each other.
After striking her, Muhammad and the victim toppled onto another female straphanger, 25, who was not involved in the dispute, knocking her to the ground.
Cops could not immediately say what prompted the argument.
Medics transported the women to Lenox Hill Hospital in stable condition.
Muhammad, who lives in Queens, was arrested at the spot. Police charged him with two counts of assault, plus criminal possession of a weapon.
