Andrew Thomas skips practice, Malik Nabers ahead of Cowboys matchup

The Giants‘ injury report was not encouraging on Wednesday ahead of the team’s must-win Week 2 road trip to the Dallas Cowboys.

Franchise left tackle Andrew Thomas (foot) sat out practice again after missing the team’s 21-6 Week 1 loss to the Washington Commanders. And top receiver Malik Nabers (back) was limited after declining to answer whether he was 100% postgame.

“I won’t be answering that question,” Nabers said Sunday in the visitors’ locker room.

Wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson (ankle) also sat out Wednesday’s practice after a heavy workload against Washington. And Micah McFadden (right foot surgery) of course is out long-term.

Daboll expressed optimism that both Robinson and Nabers would be OK for Sunday and said the Giants are hopeful to get Thomas on the practice field Thursday and Friday. But it’s concerning that the left tackle wasn’t able to go Wednesday and casts further doubt on his availability at Dallas.

He is still out due to a Lisfranc surgery he underwent on his right foot last October.

Defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence, meanwhile, was absent on Wednesday due to the birth of his and his wife’s first child. There is no indication that will compromise his ability to play in Week 2.
