The teen girl who was found dead in singer D4vd’s Tesla in Los Angeles was identified Wednesday as Celeste Rivas, a 15-year-old girl who had been missing for more than a year.
Rivas’ mother told TMZ that her daughter had a boyfriend named David. D4vd’s legal name is David Burke.
Rivas was reported missing after leaving home on April 5, 2024, and not returning, according to a flyer posted on Facebook. She lived with her family in Lake Elsinore, Calif., and was only 13 years old when she was last seen.
Her mother told TMZ that when police released the description of the victim in the Tesla — 5-foot-1, about 71 pounds and with a tattoo on her right index finger reading “Shhh…” — she had a feeling it was her daughter.
D4vd, a 20-year-old Queens native, has the same “Shhh…” tattoo on his right index finger, but he is far from the only one. Rihanna is credited with popularizing the tattoo; she got it on her right index finger back in 2009, one year before Rivas was even born.
Rivas’ body was found on Sept. 8, when police were alerted to a foul odor coming from an impounded Tesla in Los Angeles. Officers opened the Tesla to find a decomposing body inside, and investigators learned the vehicle was registered to D4vd.
The Tesla was impounded after it was abandoned in the Hollywood Hills, about 65 miles northwest of Rivas’ home in Lake Elsinore. D4vd was not in Southern California when the body was found, and he has continued touring throughout the investigation. The singer’s representatives have said he is cooperating with authorities.
