Jimmy Kimmel yanked off the air over ‘bad ratings,’ Trump claims

ABC late-night host Jimmy Kimmel was suspended over his “bad ratings,” President Trump claimed, though he incorrectly said Kimmel was fired.

“Jimmy Kimmel was fired because he had bad ratings, more than anyone else, and he said a horrible thing about a great gentleman known as Charlie Kirk,” Trump added.

A reporter had asked whether free speech was more under threat in America or Britain.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said Kirk’s assassination was “shocking” for those who “believe in free speech and democracy” and had sent “shockwaves through the world.”

Starmer said he reached out to Trump after the fatal shooting of the conservative activist Sept. 10.
