The Giants are planning to start rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll are benching veteran Russell Wilson after an 0-3 start to the season in which the Giants scored fewer than 10 points in two of their three defeats.
Dart, a Giants first round pick in April, was used briefly in Weeks 2 and 3 as more of a specialist, handing the ball off and bringing a running threat to throw off defenses.
But now he’s getting the nod for good.
Schoen and Daboll benched and released Daniel Jones last season and believed that Wilson would be a dramatic upgrade at the quarterback position for their offense.
But that plan fell flat on its face immediately. Now Dart is the only thing that can save their jobs.
This is a developing story, check back for details.
