Three NJ men charged with murder of man found dead in truck

Three New Jersey men have been arrested and charged with murder in the case of a man found shot dead in his truck, authorities announced Tuesday.

Elijah Ervin, 33; Shaheed Ervin, 39, and Earl Johnson, 29, are charged in the killing of Bruce Hall Jr., 43, in Willingboro, the Burlington County Prosecutor’s office said in a press release.

Hall was found dead in his truck on Aug. 10 in the town about halfway between Philadelphia and Trenton, police said. He had been fatally shot while sitting in a parked pickup truck, according to investigators.

Elijah Ervin was arrested two days later, and Shaheed Ervin was nabbed on Aug. 26, prosecutors said. They have been behind bars at Burlington County jail since their arrests. Authorities did not say if the two Ervins are related. All three suspects are Willingboro residents.

Johnson was the final suspect arrested; he was detained Sept. 17 at a home in Philadelphia, the prosecutor’s office said. Johnson is being held in a Philadelphia jail pending extradition to New Jersey.

All three men were charged with first-degree murder, first-degree conspiracy and three weapons crimes. Police have not publicly released any evidence that led them to the three suspects or speculated on a motive for the shooting.
