Multiple people were shot at a Mormon church in Michigan on Sunday — and the building was burning after the gunfire stopped.
Police in Grand Blanc said the shooter was “down” and there was no further threat to the public. The number of people wounded and their conditions were not immediately announced by the cops.
“There has been an active shooter at the Church of Latter-Day Saints on McCandlish Rd.,” Grand Blanc police wrote in a Facebook post. “The church is actively on fire… PLEASE AVOID THE AREA!!”
Grand Blanc is a southern suburb of Flint, about 50 miles north of Detroit. Around 7,500 people live in the city.
