Statue of Trump and Epstein holding hands back on D.C.’s National Mall – New York Daily News

A statue of President Trump and Jeffrey Epstein holding hands was reinstalled at the National Mall in Washington D.C., one week after the National Parks Service removed it.

The 12-foot statue of the duo on a jaunt was installed last Tuesday by the Secret Handshake as a protest and reminder of Trump and Epstein’s long-chronicled friendship as the president and his allies in Congress face mounting pressure to release files related to the late convicted sex trafficker and offender.

The statue was originally titled “Best Friends Forever” but was renamed “Why can’t we be friends?” for its second appearance.

“Just like a toppled confederate general forced back onto a public square, the Donald Trump Jeffrey Epstein statue has risen from the rubble to stand gloriously on the National Mall once again,” the artists said in a statement announcing the return of the statue.

The first statue was removed by the NPS because of a permitting issue, which the group said was resolved for the second go-around.

“Democrats, the media, and the organization that’s wasting their money on this statue knew about Epstein and his victims for years and did nothing to help them while President Trump was calling for transparency, and is now delivering on it with thousands of pages of documents,” White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson said in a statement.

Democrats on the House Oversight Committee have said much of what has since been turned over was already publicly available.
