Two men fatally shot in apparent murder-suicide at Queens home


A 41-year-old Queens man fatally shot his younger cousin then took his own life in an apparent murder-suicide, police said Saturday.

The two dead men were both found shot in the head inside a single-family home on 116th Rd. near 155th St. in South Jamaica. They were found around 11:45 p.m. Friday after neighbors called 911 to report a shooting.

First responders found a 37-year-old man dead at the scene, cops said. His older cousin, who’s believed to be the shooter, was rushed to Jamaica Hospital with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

He died at the hospital a short time later.

A firearm was recovered inside the home near the victims, cops said. Police on Saturday were trying to determine what sparked the shooting.

The names of the two men were not immediately disclosed.
