Joe Scarborough calls for Dem Virginia AG nom Jay Jones to stand down

Lefty MSNBC host Joe Scarborough on Monday called for scandal-scarred Virginia attorney general hopeful Jay Jones to drop out of the race after vile texts revealed him fantasizing about a GOP lawmaker being assassinated.

The liberal “Morning Joe” co-host weighed in on the saga after Jones, a Democrat, sparked widespread outrage when his disturbing old texts suddenly surfaced.

“He should probably be forced to drop out of the race,” Scarborough told “Morning Joe” viewers on Monday.

Scarborough’s remarks were immediately seized on by conservatives — as they argued the lefty host’s stance was an indicator Dems needed to “pay attention.”

“You know it’s serious when you’ve lost MSNBC,” the Republican Attorneys General Association said on X.

“Joe Scarborough has been pushing Democrats on crime and this sort of stuff. He’s a pretty big indicator that the Democrats have gone too far left and they might want to pay attention,” commentator Erick Erickson added.

Turning Point USA spokesman Andrew Kolvet also chimed in, saying: ” “Even MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough calls for Democrat Jay Jones to withdraw from the Virginia AG race… Good for him.”

The reaction comes after the Democrat nominee for Virginia’s top law enforcement post was forced to apologize over the string of texts from 2022 that showed him wishing the state’s then-House Speaker Todd Gilbert and his children would be gunned down.

The sickening messages were sent to Republican House Delegate Carrie Coyner in August 2022.
Despite the backlash, Democrats have shamelessly stood by Jones.
