Alana Stewart wants to talk about it.
The 80-year-old revealed that she had been hospitalized following a “stubborn” lung infection.
Stewart, the first wife of rocker Rod Stewart, took to Instagram on Monday to update her followers.
The actress revealed that she hasn’t been active on social media because she is currently at the UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center in California.
“I’ve been getting IV antibiotics for this infection I’ve had in my lungs for a really long time,” Stewart explained. “I’ve been on every kind of oral antibiotic and it hasn’t gotten rid of it, so now I’m doing two weeks of IV antibiotics.”
“I can’t say that it’s fun,” continued the model, “but I’m really hoping that this is going to work and I’m going to feel 100 percent great and healthy again.”
Now, Stewart is on the mend.
“Anyway, I’m doing good, I’m downstairs in their meditation garden which is absolutely beautiful. I’m so fortunate to be able to come down here and walk every day,” she gushed while showing off the gardens around her.
Stewart promised to “update” her followers as the days go on.
“I’ve been off the radar for a bit, getting treated in the hospital with IV antibiotics for a stubborn lung infection. My doctors have been advising me to do this for a while and I finally listened and bit the bullet and here I am,” she captioned the video. “I have to admit I was terrified of IV antibiotics because I have allergies to so many medications but so far so good.”
And, of course, it wasn’t all bad, “getting waited on and not having to do errands and deal with every day life,” teased Stewart.
“I’m grateful to the doctors and nurses here who have all been so nice and I’m hoping for a speedy recovery,” she concluded.
Friends and fans flocked to the comments section to share their well wishes.
Caitlyn Jenner’s ex-wife, Linda Thompson, wrote, “Keep taking the best care of yourself and I hope you get better quickly! ❤️🙏🏻,” while another friend added, “I’m so sorry to hear this. Praying for you Alana🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻 I hope you have a speedy recovery too❤️🩹.”
Stewart and Rod, 80, tied the knot in 1979 and share daughter Kimberly Stewart, 46, and son Sean Stewart, 45.
The two split in 1986.
Rod went on to marry Rachel Hunter from 1990 to 2006. The pair welcomed daughter Renee, 33, and son Liam, 31.
The musician is also dad to Sarah, 61, with ex-girlfriend Susannah Boffey and Ruby, 38, whom he shares with his ex Kelly Emberg.
Rod wed his current wife, Penny Lancaster, in 2007 and the couple are parents to Alastair, 19, and Aiden, 14.
Last month, Lancaster, 54 revealed that at one point, she almost called it quits with the singer over his disinterest in having more kids.
“Yes [I would have left him]. And that would have been very hard,” Lancaster told British magazine Saga. “But we just went with the flow.”
“Now Rod always says, ‘I wish I’d said yes [to babies] earlier, because then we could have had more children,’” she explained.
Up until five years ago, Lancaster said she and Rod had looked into adopting, but “it ended up not happening.”
“We thought there might be too much of an age gap,” she confessed.
Lancaster teased that she’s actually a mom of three boys, since Rod is “a big baby who needs my attention in a different way. I think all women would say that about their husbands.”
