Justin Bieber and his mother appear to be on different wavelengths as the pop star sharply responded to her recent prayers for his healing.
In late September, Pattie Mallette shared several black and white snaps of the 31-year-old crooner wearing a shirt that says, “Pray for me.”
“We’re cheering you on and praying for you always Justin,” Mallette wrote, calling on Jesus to “HEAL EVERY WOUND in his heart, mind and body, seen and unseen, restore what’s been stolen, and cover him in WHOLENESS.”
Earlier this week, more than two weeks after Mallette shared her post, the Grammy winner popped up to assure his mom and onlookers that he’s A-OK.
“Only thing I need healing from is my rolled pinky toe from playing ping pong,” he quipped in the comments.
Mallette didn’t explain what prompted her post, though it came three days after Bieber shared excerpts from an AI conversation, in which he asked the chatbot to tell him “the truth about how human effort is hurting humanity.”
Bieber’s well-being and marriage have been the subjects of much speculation over the course of the past year.
In April, he went off on a rant on paparazzi just days after addressing his “anger issues” and self-hatred on social media.
One of his two latest albums also appeared to nod to turbulent times in his marriage to Hailey Bieber, even seeming to call her out for pretending everything’s fine.
