A California woman called “the butt lady” has been found guilty of killing “Married with Children” actress Cindyana Santangelo with oil silicone buttocks injections.
Libby Adame was convicted on Thursday of second-degree murder and practicing medicine without a license in connection with the actress’ death earlier this year, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Santangelo, who also appeared in “ER” and “CSI: Miami,” was found unresponsive on March 24 inside her home in Malibu, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. She was rushed from the residence to a nearby hospital in Ventura County, where she was pronounced dead a short time later. She was 58 years old.
Prosecutors told the court that Adame gave Santangelo the injections the same day, resulting in a fatal silicone embolism.
Adame at the time had been on probation related to an involuntary manslaughter case over fatal buttocks injections that killed 26-year-old Karissa Rajpaul in 2019, according to the LA Times. But she and her daughter, Alicia Galaz, were both acquitted of the more serious charge of murder.
In 2024, Adame was ordered to spend four years and four months in prison, but was released less than a year later due to time served in custody and on electronic monitoring. She continued to conduct unauthorized procedure in California upon her release.

Santangelo’s husband, Frank Santangelo, testified at the most recent trial, saying that his wife was “killed in the prime of her life in her own home after being unlawfully injected with unsafe and unapproved substances by Libby Adame, an unlicensed individual falsely holding herself out as qualified to perform cosmetic procedures,” according to the civil complaint.
“Tragically, her death not only could have, but should have been prevented,” he said, adding that Adame fled the moment his wife began to convulse.
Prosecutors also argued that Adame was aware the procedure was dangerous, even before the deaths of both Rajpaul and Santangelo.
Defense attorney J. Michael Flanagan alternatively contended that Adame was only at Santangelo’s home as a consultant. She’d been there on behalf of doctors who can legally perform buttocks injections in Tijuana, Mexico.
