‘Home Alone’ star Daniel Stern hospitalized for medical emergency

“Home Alone” actor Daniel Stern was hospitalized after suffering a medical emergency earlier this month.

The Ventura County Fire Department told TMZ that on Oct. 7, they responded to a residence in Somis, California where an individual had to be assessed by firefighters and transported to a nearby hospital.

The individual was Stern, according to TMZ’s sources, who said the actor has since been released from the hospital.

Stern’s rep confirmed to TMZ that he’s “now doing well.”

The Post has reached out to the Ventura County Fire Department and Stern’s rep for comment.

Stern famously played Marv Murchins in the 1990 comedy film directed by Chris Columbus and also starring Macaulay Culkin and Joe Pesci. A sequel, “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York,” was released two years later.

But today, Stern has moved away from Hollywood to enjoy a quieter life on his ranch in California with his wife, Laure Mattos, with whom he shares three children.

“I made enough money that I didn’t have to work,” he told People last year. “I made enough money and I’m kind of frugal … I bought the house in cash. I bought the cars in cash. I bought everything straight up because as an artist, I never knew if [I was] going to make any more bread. And I said to my wife, ‘How much money do I need to sock in the bank so that we can live off the interest and so that I don’t have to work?’ She said, ‘We hit it.’”

“That was like, ‘Okay, Dan, now you’re going to put your money where your mouth is’ … ‘What am I going to do with it? Am I going to keep chasing another part or that?’” Stern added, noting that his decision to begin “stepping away” from Hollywood was to disconnect from the “overwhelming” reality of being in the spotlight.

Stern also told the publication that he hasn’t seen “Home Alone” in its entirety since the film’s 1990 premiere.

“I’ve seen clips. I’ve seen it pop up. Or like, they have highlights when you turn on the TV, I turn on the TV and there I am falling on the toys or something,” the father of three explained.

“But yeah, I mean, what, am I going to hunker down and watch me?” Stern continued. “I love the movie. It’s tremendous. I know the script inside and out.”
