NFL Week 11 Thursday Night Bettors Guide: Commanders at Eagles

COMMANDERS at EAGLES

8:15 p.m., Eagles by 3 ½, 49

HANK’S HONEYS: NFC East supremacy is on the line with both teams rolling, the Eagles just a little bit more. Philly has dominated lately, scoring 20 or more points in three of its last four games, using one of the best-balanced offenses in the league to go along with an equally impressive defense. The teams are a combined 14-3-1 ATS but this feel like a game where the Eagles’ experience makes the difference. There is no doubt the Commanders have had a dream season so far, but they own just one win over a quality opponent, the Cardinals. This is an opportunity for the Eagles to make a prime-time statement.

If Washington is going to pull the upset, Jayden Daniels must bring his A-Game against arguably the best defense he has played in his short NFL career. The rookie’s production has dropped off since his injury and he will not have a full week to rest his aching body before facing an Eagles secondary that has been punching over its body weight by allowing the third-fewest passing yards in the NFL. The Eagles were a bit slow to adapt to Vic Fangio’s defense but that’s changed. Led by a stout front seven, Philly has allowed the six-fewest ppg while ranking in the top five in both passing and rushing D.

Conversely, Saquon Barkley looms as a tough matchup for the Washington run defense, which sits near the bottom of the league, and if the Eagles get that part of their offense going, it will be a long night.

IF I WERE A BETTING MAN: Eagles and the over.
