Pete Hegseth’s plane makes emergency landing in the UK

A plane carrying Secretary of War Pete Hegseth was forced to make an unexpected landing Wednesday while traveling back to the United States from Brussels, Belgium.

Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell confirmed the emergency landing was caused by a cracked windshield, and said no one was harmed in the incident.

“On the way back to the United States from NATO’s Defense Ministers meeting, Secretary of War Hegseth’s plane made an unscheduled landing in the United Kingdom due to a crack in the aircraft windshield. The plane landed based on standard procedures and everyone onboard, including Secretary Hegseth, is safe,” Parnell wrote on social media.

Hegseth reassured his supporters that he was in good health by reposting that message and adding one of his own.

“All good. Thank God. Continue mission!” he wrote on X.

Hegseth came home to a less-crowded Pentagon on Wednesday after multiple news agencies refused to cooperate with his efforts to manage the media’s coverage of the Department of Defense.

Dozens of reporters handed in their press credentials after being given a 4 p.m. deadline to do so if they chose not to comply with his guidelines. Only the MAGA media network OAN has indicated it would adhere to the Pentagon’s new rules for the press.

As part of those new rules, the Defense Department stated that journalists could face expulsion if they sought to report on any information that had not been approved by Hegseth.
