Eileen Paris, sister of former Daily News reporter Bill Farrell, has died. She was 72.
She died peacefully on Oct. 24 surrounded by family at Jersey Shore Medical Group, her brother said
A die-hard Mets fan, Paris was too young to go to Brooklyn Dodgers games at Ebbets Field with her brother and their dad.
But she developed a baseball passion of her own, watching the once-hapless Amazin’s take the World Series crown in 1969 and again in 1986.
Paris was one of five children born to William, a retired Daily News pressman, and Lorraine Farrell. Her brother Lawrence was also a pressman at The News.
She was their only daughter.
“You couldn’t have custom ordered a better little sister,” Farrell said. “She was great with kids. She was great with everybody.”
Born and raised in Brooklyn, Paris worked for many years at Scorpio Posters and later at the New York City Board of Elections.
She lived in Sayreville, N.J.
Relatives remember her as a wonderful cook, who especially loved crafting Italian specialties.
Paris was preceded in death by her parents and her former husband, Danny Paris.
A funeral Mass will be held Thursday at 9:15 a.m. at Our Lady of Victories RC Church in Sayreville.
