Conspiracy peddling MAGA loyalist Laura Loomer has reportedly been credentialed to cover the Pentagon.
The far right-wing activist will make up part of a newly forming press corps that agreed to report under terms set by Defense Secretary and former Fox News host Pete Hegseth that prompted mainstream journalists to forfeit their credentials last month.
According to the Washington Post, Loomer, 32, will be seated alongside right-wing organizations like One America News when reporting on the Department of Defense under restrictions limiting reporters access to solicit information government officials haven’t made available.
Loomer makes no secret of her allegiance to President Trump.
“I don’t really have much of a life, you know?” Loomer told the Washington Post in May 2024 before Trump was re-elected. “So I’m happy to dedicate all my time to helping Trump, because if Trump doesn’t get back in, I don’t have anything.”
Loomer’s fealty to the president doesn’t always translate to support of the Defense Department. She’s been critical of officials whom she doesn’t feel share her devotion to Trump.
Trump said in April that he’d dismissed National Security Council members a day after Loomer told him she questioned their commitment to his “Make America Great Again” movement. Trump downplayed her influence in his decision though a source familiar with the matter told the Associated Press there was a direct connection.
Loomer has reported that the terror attacks of Sept. 11 were an “inside job,” claimed the 2020 presidential election Trump lost had been rigged and alleged Haitian migrants were eating the pets of U.S. citizens. Trump repeated the unfounded claim about pets being eaten during a 2024 presidential debate with Democratic party candidate Kamala Harris.
