‘Stranger Things’ honchos respond David Harbour harassment report

“Stranger Things” honchos are responding to the “noise” amid reports that Millie Bobby Brown has accused costar David Harbour of bullying and harassment.

Producer Shawn Levy told The Hollywood Reporter at the Netflix hit’s season five world premiere Thursday, that “the job” is “creat[ing] a respectful workplace where everyone feels comfortable and safe.”

“We did everything to build that environment. And we’re proud of the fact that we did so. And I’ve read a bunch of stories that range from wildly inaccurate to… you know, there’s so much noise around it,” said the “Deadpool & Wolverine” director, 57. “The truth is that we view this crew and this cast as family and so we treat each other with respect. And that’s always been the bedrock.”

Ross Duffer, who created the show with brother Matt, echoed similar sentiments, albeit without shutting down specifics.

“Obviously, you understand I can’t get into personal on-set matters, but I will say we’ve been doing this for 10 years with this cast, and at this point they’re family and we deeply care about them,” he said, standing beside his fraternal collaborator. “So, you know, nothing matters more than just having a set where everyone feels safe and happy.”

The Daily Mail reported last weekend that 21-year-old Brown, who stars as Eleven, had filed a harassment and bullying claim against Harbour, 51, who plays Jim Hopper, ahead of filming the final season. The claims — which did not refer to any sexual misconduct — were reportedly probed “for months” by the streamer.

It’s unclear whether such allegations were really leveled and whether an investigation really did take place. Brown and Harbour though posed together aplenty at Thursday’s premiere.

A former crew member in 2018 also accused the Duffer Brothers of verbally abusing women on set. Netflix found no wrongdoing.
