Man carjacked in Brooklyn, taken on wild ride before stolen SUV crashes above highway

A 37-year-old man was carjacked, kidnapped and then taken on a wild ride through Brooklyn before his stolen SUV smashed through a fence and ended up teetering on a retaining wall above a highway early Saturday, police said.

The victim was driving his gray 2014 Toyota Sienna through Dyker Heights and was stopped near the corner of Bay Ridge Parkway and 11th Ave. at about 12:30 a.m. when three men approached and yanked him out of his SUV.

They punched him in the face and kicked him as they pretended to have a gun and robbed him of his cellphone, wallet and keys, cops said. They then, for some inexplicable reason, threw their victim in the back of the Sienna and drove off.

The crooks drove through the neighborhood with their prisoner until the Sienna plowed through a fence at the corner of Dyker Place and 84th St. and plunged down a small embankment shortly before 1 a.m., cops said.

The Sienna came to a crunching halt at the edge of a retaining wall above an on-ramp to the Manhattan-bound side of the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway.

The SUV was found teetering on the edge of the wall, the passenger side front tire left dangling off the ledge.

Two of the three carjackers were found at the scene and taken into custody. A third accomplice managed to escape the carnage and remained at large Saturday.

Their victim also escaped and ran to a stranger’s home on 84th St. and 13th Ave., where he called police for help. He was unharmed and refused medical attention when police arrived, officials said.

It was not immediately clear if the victim managed to get out of the car before the crash, which happened about four blocks away from where he called police, or if he took the plunge with the carjackers and got out unscathed.

Cops were interviewing the victim on Saturday.
