How Sydney Sweeney dropped 30 pounds in 7 weeks after ‘Christy’

Talk about dedication.

Sydney Sweeney has revealed how she managed to drop 30 pounds between finishing “Christy” and starting both “The Housemaid” and Season 3 of “Euphoria” just seven weeks later.

“I had to be really strict with myself,” the actress, 28, told People in an interview published Monday.

“When I was training, it was really hard to put on all the weight. I was eating so much food. Like, everything you could possibly imagine,” she continued. “And then I was downing protein shake after protein shake and taking a lot of creatine, which just makes you bloat.”

When it came time to lose all the extra weight she put on for “Christy,” Sweeney “stopped all of that” and returned to her original diet and exercise routine.

“When you stop working out and taking all your protein shakes, you lose muscle super fast,” the “White Lotus” alum explained. “It’s the first thing to go before fat. So, that, I dropped within two weeks.”

She lost the remaining weight by sticking to a “super clean” diet and doing “a lot of cardio.”

But while Sweeney admitted that “this might be the one and only” time she gains and then loses so much extra weight for a role, she was thankful that her “metabolism works really well.”

“I don’t want to say this is super easy,” the “Anyone But You” star stressed. “But I’ve been a very active person my entire life. Like, I was a super active kid, and I’ve always kind of just stayed active and always had a good metabolism.”

“I can gain weight, but I can lose it too,” she concluded.

“Christy,” which saw Sweeney portray pro boxer Christy Martin in the David Michôd-directed biopic, hit theaters Nov. 7.

The “Echo Valley” star first opened up about the experience and how she managed such a dramatic body transformation earlier this year for a cover story of W Magazine.

“I came onboard to play Christy, and I had about three and a half months of training,” she explained in June. “I started eating. I weight-trained in the morning for an hour, kickboxed midday for about two hours, and then weight-trained again at night for an hour.”

“I didn’t fit in any of my clothes. I’m usually a size 23 in jeans, and I was wearing a size 27,” Sweeney continued. “My boobs got bigger. And my butt got huge. It was crazy! I was like, Oh my god.”

As for the film itself, “Christy” earned just $1.3 million over its first few days in theaters.

Sweeney, however, went on to defend the film in the wake of its poor opening weekend.

“I am so deeply proud of this movie,” she wrote in an Instagram post on Monday. “Proud of the film david made. proud of the story we told.”

“So yes I’m proud. why? because we don’t always make art for numbers, we make it for impact,” Sweeney added. “and christy has been the most impactful project of my life.”
