Several students in Edison, N.J., were sent to the hospital following a crash involving their school bus, authorities said.
The Monday afternoon incident happened after a motorist had a “medical episode” and lost control of his vehicle after becoming lightheaded, Edison Township police told NJ Advance Media.
The bus was carrying students from Edison Success Academy when it was hit by a car on New Durham Road shortly after 2:30 p.m., officials said.
While no major injuries were reported, seven students were taken to a nearby hospital for observation after complaining of pain.
Police have not released any details about the driver.
Representatives for both Edison police and Edison Township Public Schools did not immediately respond to a request for comment Wednesday afternoon.
