The search for missing Bentley University professor Wiley Davi entered its fifth day on Thursday.
Davi was first reported missed on Peaks Island, off the coast of Portland, Maine, on Saturday, Nov. 15, according to the Maine Warden Service.
The Portland Police Department said Thursday there was so far no evidence of foul play.
The Warden Service searched trails and wooded areas on Monday and Tuesday but did not find any signs of Davi. The Maine Marine Patrol is still searching Casco Bay, which surrounds the island, with boats, divers and a plane. They continue to search neighboring islands as well.
Officials encouraged the public to check their vehicles, garages, sheds and other outbuildings on their property.
Davi, 57, is described as 5-foot-7 and approximately 155 pounds, with gray hair and glasses.
Bentley University is a private university in Waltham, Mass., known for its accounting and finance programs. Davi is a professor of English and media studies who holds a doctorate in medieval and Renaissance studies from Tufts University, according to LinkedIn.
“Wiley is a longtime and respected professor and a friend to students, faculty and staff on our campus,” a Bentley University spokesperson said in a statement. “Our hearts and minds are with Wiley, their loved ones and the first responders who are leading the search, and we are hoping and praying for Wiley’s safe return.”
