‘RHOP’ alum Mia Thornton accused of stealing $11k in furniture

“Real Housewives of the Potomac” alum Mia Thornton has been accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of furniture from her rented condo, according to police.

Thornton was arrested at Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport “without incident” on Wednesday and booked into the Fulton County Jail, the Atlanta Police Department said in a statement. She is facing a charge of felony theft by taking “related to a larceny involving an alleged furniture theft” last month.

According to a police incident report, Thornton and and a man identified as Jared McGriff moved out of her rental apartment without warning late the night on Oct. 28. They allegedly “took all of the furniture which was in the unit prior to their move in as well as the tv which was on the wall,” all of which was worth an estimated $11,000.

It does not appear McGriff was arrested in connection with the alleged theft. Few other details were provided.

It comes after Thornton in April announced her departure form the “Real Housewives of the Potomac” after four seasons, explaining in an Instagram post that she and her family planned to relocate to Atlanta.

“The past four seasons have been an unforgettable journey one filled with growth, lessons, and so many incredible memories,” she wrote.

“This next chapter is already full of exciting opportunities, and I can’t wait to take you all along for the ride,” she concluded. “Big things are coming…”

Her arrest makes her the latest Bravo celebrity accused of criminal misconduct. Others include “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Teresa Giudice and her husband, Joe Giudice — who were sentenced to prison for fraud in 2014 —  and “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Jen Shah, who was sentenced to 78 months in federal prison in 2023.
