A 59-year-old woman has been arrested for murdering a young man in the Bronx with three gunshots to the head, police said Tuesday.
Denise Aponte was charged Monday with murder, manslaughter and gun possession for allegdly killing Randy Blanche, 24, a day earlier.
Police initially believed the shooting involved some sort of domestic relationship but an NYPD spokeswoman said Tuesday the suspect did not know the victim.
Blanche was shot on the street outside the Sedgwick Houses, just around the corner from the buildng where the suspect lives, just before 8 p.m. Sunday.
Blanche was rushed by medics from the scene at W. 174th St. and Popham Ave. in Morris Heights to BronxCare Health System but he could not be saved. He was about a mile-and-a-half from home when he was killed, according to cops.
