The three people who were found dead in a suspected murder-suicide in Massachusetts last month have been identified, among them, two residents of Connecticut, officials said.
Officers with the Springfield Police Department were called to investigate a stabbing at a home on the 1400 block of State Street just days before Thanksgiving, on November 25, according to the Hamden District Attorney’s Office. When they arrived around 9:50 a.m., authorities found three people suffering stab wounds — a woman and two men — and they were all pronounced dead on the scene.
On Monday, the Hamden District Attorney’s Office identified the victims as 67-year-old Khamkieo Chingvacha, of Springfield, and Sachivanh Phomphanh, a 47-year-old from West Hartford, Conn.
The suspect, meanwhile was identified as 43-year-old Kung Kedjumnong, also from West Hartford. Kedjumnong allegedly “fatally stabbed both victims before taking his own life,” the District Attorney’s Office in a statement said.
“This remains an active investigation being conducted by the Springfield Police Department’s Homicide Unit under Captain Trent Duda and the Hampden District Attorney’s Murder Unit,” it continued. “Hampden District Attorney Anthony D. Gulluni expresses his sympathies to the victim’s families.”
Few other details were provided, but authorities do not believe there to be an ongoing threat to the community at this time.
