Avenged Sevenfold just made summer plans with their pals.
The heavy group recently announced they’re striking out on a co-headlining tour with Good Charlotte that will send the gruesome twosome to arenas, pavilions and amphitheaters all over North America next July and August.
While traipsing the nation, A7X and GC are scheduled to make a pair of Tri-state stops.
First, they’re slated to rock Belmont Park’s UBS Arena on Monday, Aug. 10. Then, a few days later the duo will hit Camden, NJ’s Freedom Mortgage Pavilion on Friday, Aug. 14.
“Excited to tour with our friends and see you all next summer,” Avenged Sevenfold shared via Instagram.
If you’d like to catch the pair on their nationwide run, tickets are available for all shows on platforms such as Ticketmaster, StubHub, Vivid Seats and SeatGeek.
At the time of publication, the cheapest inventory we could find for any one show was $47 including fees on StubHub for their Mansfield, MA gig.
Tickets start at $62.10 including fees on Ticketmaster for their night at Belmont Park.
In addition to the tour, Avenged Sevenfold also recently released a new song, “Magic,” for “Call of Duty Black Ops 7.” The track is accompanied by an official virtual reality 360° video that allows viewers to adjust the frame and witness the CGI characters from an infinite number of angles.
Basically, the visually-imaginative piece is a choose-your-own adventure short film.
As for Good Charlotte, they dropped their eight studio album “Motel Du Cap” in August. When The Horn Blows claimed the 13-track record “blends nostalgic defiance with a refined sense of maturity, a testament to both evolution and staying power…[this is] their rawest and most heartfelt offering yet.”

Avenged Sevenfold new music
In tandem with the new “Call of Duty: Black Ops 7” game, Avenged Sevenfold unveiled the single “Magic.”
From the jump, the nearly four-minute track is an unrelenting assault of the senses with neverending drums, droning vocals and ominous lyrics like “Living always, always dying/But you wouldn’t listen/Or maybe incapable/But that doesn’t matter.”
If anything, the tune almost sounds like a Voidz outtake.

Good Charlotte new music
On Aug. 8, Good Charlotte released their eighth studio “Motel Du Cap.”
This offering, the band’s first since 2018’s “Generation Rx” starts shockingly gently with a friendly spoken-word intro titled “Check in at Motel Du Cap.”
Shortly thereafter, the Madden bros return to their pop-punk roots with the charming bop “Rejects” that evokes the group’s roots. They stick to that lane with the upbeat jam “Stepper” before retreating to ballad territory on the melancholy “I Don’t Work Here Anymore.”
The mellow anthem “Life is Great” is a surprisingly optimistic lo-fi rap-punk mashup featuring Wiz Khalifa, which is followed by the friendly rocker “Pink Guitar.” They close the record with the earnest trio of wedding-ready tracks “The Dress Rehearsal,” “Castle in the Sand” and “GC FOREVER,” that we’d classift as a nostalgic tearjerker.
For a group that was known for its ironic, sneering cynicism, Good Charlotte has certainly aged gracefully. They’re the rare elder statesmen who are grateful for their standing in the biz.
Want to hear for yourself? You can find “Motel Du Cap” here.
More recently, GC dropped the Tom Waits-esque, Christmas single “Fairytale of New York.” Click here to check that one out (and make sure to stick around past the minute mark when the song finds its punk-y footing).
