Tylor Chase, the former Nickelodeon star who was discovered living on the streets in a heartbreaking viral video, is reportedly going to rehab.
According to TMZ, Chase is currently in a 72-hour hold, getting medical attention at a hospital in Riverside, Calif.
After that, he will head to rehab. The name of his rehab facility was not disclosed.
Jacob Harris — the owner of Shipwreck Barbershop in Riverside, California, told TMZ that he visited the former child actor where he was hospitalized on Christmas Day.
“I had to do something. I finally found a crisis center that would come out and do an on-site evaluation.”
Chase, 36, was best known for starring in “Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide,” which aired from 2004 to 2007.
In a video that went viral on Dec. 31, he was discovered to be living on the streets in Riverside.
In the clip, which was originally shared in September, a fan who took the footage asked a disheveled looking Chase if he was on Disney Channel.
“Nickelodeon,” Chase clarified, telling the fan that he was on “Ned’s Declassified.”
“Oh yeah, you’re that kid on it,” the fan responded.
“This actually breaks my heart,” one fan tweeted in response.
In September, after the clip was shared, a GoFundMe was launched to help the former actor, with the page reportedly raising over $1,200.
However, his mother reportedly halted it.
“Tylor needs medical attention not money. But he refuses it,” his mom reportedly said. “I appreciate your effort. But money would not be a benefit to him. I have gotten him several phones, but he loses them within a day or two. He can’t manage money for his meds by himself.”
On the Sept. 24 episode of their “Ned’s Declassified Podcast Survival Guide,” Chase’s former co-stars Devon Werkheiser, Lindsey Shaw and Daniel Curtis Lee spoke out.
“It was a lot to process for me,” said Lee, 34. “When I first saw it, I was angry, because I was like why put a camera in someone’s face when they are on hard times?”
“But then, after I was angry at the people who were filming it, I was upset with myself in that I feel powerless. I feel like there’s not much I can do,” he added.
Shaw, who previously battled drug addiction, admitted, “I’ve been somebody like that.”
The three actors also vowed to try to help Chase.
“Yeah, we’re all hoping we can get Tylor on a better path, we’ll see what we can do here,” Daniel said. “But he’s not coming on the podcast.”
Lee took to Instagram on Tuesday to share a video of him and Chase, reuniting on the streets of Los Angeles. Lee also took him out for pizza, and checked him into a hotel.
On Dec. 25, Chase was hospitalized to detox from drugs.
“We finally got Tylor the help he needed,” influencer Jacob ‘Jake’ Harris, who was called in to help by the former actor’s worried dad, said in a video on Instagram.
“He’s currently receiving medical attention to get him healthy, to get him all better.”
