Critics of Jennifer Lopez might have plenty to say, but the pop superstar has just as much to shake, as she explained while addressing negativity she sees about herself online.
Lopez, 56, was performing the first show of her Las Vegas residency on Tuesday when she reflected on being able to “ignore a lot” of what she sees when “scrolling through the internet.”
“You know, thank God I’ve been doing this a long time, I can just ignore a lot of it. It really doesn’t mean nothing,” the Bronx-born performer told the crowd, as seen in a TikTok video recorded from the audience. “I do laugh at some of the things [I see online] sometimes, ’cause they do say funny things too. … ‘Why is she always dressed that way? … Why don’t she dress her age? Why she always naked?’”
The “Kiss of the Spider Woman” star chuckled as she added, “If you had this booty, you would be naked too!”
Lopez — whose residency runs until Jan. 3 and again for eight shows in March — then turned back toward her dancers, giving onlookers a cheeky peek at her backside, covered in a barely-there, sparkly fringe number.
