With the Yankees still building their roster in the midst of a slow offseason, the team has announced its report dates for spring training.
While plenty of players will be in Tampa before they’re required to be, the club’s pitchers and catchers will officially report to camp on Feb. 11. Aaron Boone will also conduct his first press conference of the spring that day at George M. Steinbrenner Field.
The pitchers and catchers will then hold their first workout on Feb. 12.
Position players, meanwhile, must report by Feb. 15. The Yankees will hold their first full-squad workout on Feb. 16.
The Yankees will play their first spring training game at the Orioles’ complex on Feb. 20 at 1:05 p.m. Their first home game of the spring will take place against the Tigers at the same time on Feb. 21.
There are a few wrinkles in the Yankees’ spring schedule, including a March 3 exhibition against Team Panama ahead of the World Baseball Classic. That tournament begins March 5 and will lure some pinstripers away from camp.
Yankees prospects will also play against Atlanta’s farmhands in the 2026 Spring Breakout game at GMS on March 21.
Finally, the Yankees will play their last two spring training games in Mesa, Arizona against the Cubs on March 23 and 24. It will mark the Yankees’ first spring training games in Arizona since 1951, when they swapped spring training sites with the New York Giants.
The trip to Arizona precedes Opening Day in San Francisco on March 25.
What the Yankees’ roster looks like at that point is anyone’s guess, as the club still has some work to do.
Left field remains a question mark with a sizable gap remaining between the Bombers and Cody Bellinger, and the Yankees would also benefit from the addition of a frontline starter. Their bullpen is also lacking with pitchers and catchers less than a month away from reporting.
