“Home Alone” star Daniel Stern has been charged for allegedly soliciting prostitution over the holidays last month, following a seemingly innocuous citation.
The 68-year-old “Wonder Years” alum was charged after his case was submitted to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office late Friday, after which he was ultimately charged, a rep for the DA’s office told TMZ.
Friday was also the day the outlet first reported that on Stern’s Dec. 10 citation for allegedly trying to hire an escort at a hotel in Camarillo, about 21 miles west of Simi Valley. He had not been booked at the time.
It’s not believed that Stern will appear at his arraignment, slated for Tuesday, the DA’s Office rep told TMZ. It’s unclear how Stern plans to plea.
The Daily News has reached out to Stern’s legal representative as well as the Ventura County District Attorney for additional information.
Stern had a rough end to 2025, with the citation preceded by a reported medical emergency at his nearby home on Oct. 7. Though the details remain fuzzy, the Ventura County Fire Department previously told TMZ that Stern had been transported to a local hospital.
Stern’s rep at the time told the outlet that the actor — now a farmer and sculptor — was recovering.
In early December, People published an interview with the self-described “homebody,” who, rather than take part in the in-person events commemorating the 35th anniversary of “Home Alone,” said, “I don’t leave my farm.”
That said, Stern shared he was game to pay tribute to the holiday classic — in which he plays ditzy thief Marv, opposite fellow Wet Bandit Harry (Joe Pesci) — via “a phone call, Zoom call.”
