A heroic civilian that brazenly tackled and disarmed a gunman at the Bondi Beach terror attack in December broke bread with thriller Hollywood producer M. Night Shyamalan.
In a scene straight out of a Hollywood movie, Ahmed AI Ahmed, a 43-year-old shop owner and father of two, gained notoriety after footage of him wrestling a gun from one of the terrorists went viral following the Dec. 14, 2025 attack.
Ahmed posted the photo of himself wearing an arm sling and standing next to Shyamalan and his wife, Bhavna Vaswani, at a restaurant on Jan. 12.
“Had a truly wonderful dinner with M. Night Shyamalan, the Hollywood filmmaker and American director, screenwriter, and producer,” said Ahmed in the Instagram post.
“It was a warm, delightful evening filled with meaningful conversations and memorable moments,” he added.
One supporter commented below the post saying, “hope they make a movie about you.”
While another took a shot at his newfound fame. “True heroes are humble. You are clearly milking it now,” the post stated.

The Sydney, Australia mass shooting took the lives of 15 people celebrating Hanukkah on the beach. A father and son team, Sajid Akram and Naveed Akram, opened fire on a crowd of worshipers around 6:42 p.m. The gunmen were ultimately shot to death by police.
