Man, 26, shot to death around corner from his Brooklyn home

A 26-year-old man was shot to death around the corner from his Brooklyn home, police said Sunday.

Elquan Tillman was shot multiple times in the torso on Stockton St. near Tompkins Ave. in Bedford-Stuyvesant about 10:55 p.m. Saturday, cops said.

Medics rushed him to Kings County Hospital, but he couldn’t be saved. Police have made no arrests.

Tillman was just around the corner from his home when he was killed, according to cops.

The shooting marks the second homicide this year in Brooklyn’s 79th Precinct. On Tuesday, 22-year-old Jackson King allegedly stabbed his grandmother, Julia Boomer, 85, to death inside her Throop Ave. home.

The 79th Precinct saw eight slayings in 2025, according to NYPD statistics.
