Reality TV star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is opening up about a recent health scare.
The “Jersey Shore” alum took to social media this week to share that after years of receiving abnormal pap smear results, further testing revealed cancerous cells in her cervix.
“Results come back,” she said in a recent TikTok video. “Doctor calls me and he’s like, ‘Not looking great.’ He found cancerous cells on the top of my cervix.”
Polizzi, who has been closely monitored by her physicians and underwent a colposcopy and biopsy, noted she’ll need to have an additional cone biopsy under anesthesia for further testing.
“It’s scary,” she said, “but we have to get it done because cervical cancer is nothing to joke about.”
The 38-year-old mother of three opted to go public about her health because she initially “waited” on scheduling her appointments and wanted to warn others not to do the same.

“So ladies, stay on your appointments is basically what this video is about because we’re talking the future,” she said. “If now this biopsy comes back not great, the next step would be a hysterectomy.”
The New York Times bestseller, who married Jionni LaValle in 2014, became emotional while discussing the possibility of permanently removing her reproductive organs.
“The thought of getting a hysterectomy — it’s sad and it’s scary,” she said. “I’m done having kids, but the thought of not being able to have kids, I think that’s what’s killing me. But whatever, whatever to keep me healthy and safe, to be here for my kids that I have now [is what I’ll do].”
