Streamer Neo Langston, a friend of singer D4vd, has been arrested on a felony charge for failing to appear as a witness.
It’s unclear whether Langston was taken into custody in connection with the suspected murder of Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose decomposing and dismembered remains were found in D4vd’s Tesla last year.
In September, the body of Rivas, 15, was discovered in the trunk of the Queens-born singer’s impounded vehicle in Los Angeles. By year’s end, it was reported that the 20-year-old, real name David Anthony Burke, would likely be indicted for his suspected role in the death of the runaway.
Langston, meanwhile, was arrested in Helena, Mont., on Thursday, on a warrant from the LAPD, according to online records.
Authorities confirmed to TMZ that Langston, 23, appeared before a judge on Friday and was subsequently being transferred to L.A. He was later booked into the city’s Metropolitan Detention Center at around 11:30 p.m. local time.
He was released Saturday morning after reportedly posting $60,000 bail.
D4vd was flagged as a suspect in the Rivas case in mid-November, which was followed shortly after by reports that a second suspect had been identified, though not publicly named.
According to TMZ, the other individual is believed to have knowledge of the events leading up to, during and after Rivas’ death. They’re not not believed to have killed the teen, but may have helped dismember her remains.
In late November, a grand jury reportedly convened to hear from witnesses in the case. They expected to vote on whether to indict the “Romantic Homicide” singer.
Though the exact nature of Rivas and D4vd’s relationship has not been confirmed by police, the young girl’s mother told TMZ early in the case that her daughter had a boyfriend named David. Friends who knew the pair have said they believed they were a couple.
